The red panda (Ailurus Fulgen) also known as the lesser panda is close relative of the Giant Panda and raccoon. This furry red-brownish mammal lives in the region of eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. The red panda is a omnivore because it eats plants and animals. The red panda ways 8-12 pounds, which about the weight of a baby, length is 24 inches and life span is about 8-15 years. This solitary species is decreasing rapidly and may be close to extinction. There are now less than 2,500 red pandas left. Many are dying and if we don't other species might decrease in population.
